If you're a blogger, you probably spend a lot of time sitting at your desk and as much as you love it, if you're like me then you need a break from the desk every so often. Well, now you can join the blogging revolution by blogging from your iPhone or iPod Touch, by using the next gen blogging platform - which is Squarespace. 

I do most of my Tweeting from my iPod Touch and a lot of the time, I get info and new ideas while I'm using my device, so having this app definitely bridges the gap between idea and blog post. I'm the owner of a Pro account on Squarespace that I use to host my blog and I'm really excited that I can now post to this blog from virtually anywhere! (that there's wi-fi).

I'm not the only iPhone & iPod Touch app reviewer out there, so I won't be the only person who's really happy about not having to somehow transfer or email the screengrabs you take - of music you're listening to, a photo you saw on the web, or the high score you just got in your favorite new game. I don't know about anyone else, but to me, having Squarespace on my iPod Touch is Rad.

The interface for the Squarespace application for the iPhone and iPod Touch  is really simple and clean, but its different from the interface on the web. Its totally free on iTunes, all you need is a Squarespace account - which you can sign up for right in the application. 

If its the first time you've opened the Squarespace app on your iPhone or iPod Touch, then you'll be prompted for your username and password. Just enter what you would to log in to your Squarespace account on the web.

If you have multiple accounts you are a very industrious blogger and I applaud you!

Once you're logged in, you can use the icons at the bottom of the page to decide what you want to do next. There are just a few options so its really clear and easy to navigate around.

 To post a new blog post (armed with an idea and a screengrab of some kind hopefully as well!) just press the A icon where you see the word Post.

 Its that simple! Go ahead and blog away. If you're like me, you'll want to get some pictures from your album on your iPhone or iPod Touch, so press the little icon above the keyboard that looks like a camera to add photos to your blog post.

There is a maximum of 8 photos you can attach at once, but if you save your blog post you can go back to Edit it and add some more, each upload totalling no more than 8 photos that are screengrabs from my iPod Touch.

Since almost all the photos on my blog are screengrabs from an iPod Touch, having this application to blog is really cool! 

If you need to add it to a category or include some Tags, click on the tab that has the little wheel icon. You can update the time of your blog post and make other changes.

 Once you're done writing your post, you can either Save or Publish your draft.

To go back to edit a blog post, touch the Manage icon. Published blog posts are in bold black lettering, while Drafts will be greyed out.

Of course if you have a complex website with ads you'll still have to go back to your computer to cut and paste HTML text for ads and do URL shortening there since that step is probably faster with a keyboard and as many Safari tabs as you want open, but being able to write blog posts and post pictures to it from my iPod Touch is definitely going to make it easier for me to blog. 

This is exactly what I wanted for Christmas! Everything is better with the iPod Touch, and that includes blogging!
